Recorded at The Legendary Sun Studio — Memphis, Tennessee
Some places just breathe music. Sun Studio is one of them.
The songs on Tape’s Rollin’ were captured over two unforgettable trips to Memphis in 2023 and 2025. Stepping into that historic room — the same room where so many of my musical heroes stood, sang, and played — was nothing short of magic. The walls seemed to hum with the echoes of the past, and it was both humbling and inspiring to add a few new notes to that rich history.
These songs were born from a mix of inspiration and experience — shaped not just by the studio, but by the cities that live and breathe music. Many of the ideas came from time spent wandering through the streets of New Orleans and Memphis. Hanging out in the French Quarter, soaking in the sounds on Beale Street... this album became my way of paying tribute to the musicians and music that filled those nights, and left their mark on me.
I’m lucky to share these songs with you — and even luckier to have shared the journey with some incredible people.
A heartfelt thanks to Delise, Robyn, Zach, Montana, Dad, Chris, and the extended family for all their love, encouragement, and endless support. To Lydia Fletcher, thank you for your warm hospitality at Sun Studio, and to Daniel and Mike — your skill and ears brought these sessions to life.
A special mention for Last Time, a song close to my heart, co-written and recorded with Zach Nunis back in 2023.
I played piano, guitar, Hammond, and sang on this record — but the real star was the room itself. There’s just something about that place.
So here’s to the songs, the stories, the streets, and the studio where the tape was Rollin’.
